A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Catania State Police for aggravated robbery, committed last June. The investigations, coordinated by the prosecutor’s office and carried out by the Flying Squad – Countering Widespread Crime Section (“Falchi”), made it possible to acquire elements that would demonstrate the young man’s involvement in the robbery committed in a medical rehabilitation center.
On the afternoon of 13 June 2023, with his face covered by a hood and scarf, and armed with a knife, he entered the center and threatened an employee to have her hand over the proceeds amounting to 80 euros. The images recorded by the video surveillance systems in the area made it possible to identify the vehicle used (a scooter) and to trace the identity of the perpetrator. The investigating judge, at the request of the prosecutor, ordered the precautionary measure of house arrest.
