On Thursday 30 May the French court in Nanterre will decide on the complaint of the children of Diego Armando Maradona to block the auction of the Golden Ballawarded to Pibe after the triumph at the ’86 World Cup.

The Aguttes house, which will display the trophy received from a Franco-Algerian collector, has set the auction date for June 6th. And now the house is annoyed with Maradona’s family. “Trying, 35 years after an alleged theft, to reclaim a property without ever having filed a complaint is an opportunistic approach that justice cannot tolerate,” he said Arthur Gaulierlawyer of Aguttes.

The football had been stolen from the vault of a bank in Naples in 1989 and, according to some testimonies from members of the Camorra, it had been melted down.

In recent weeks another truth has emerged: the Ball had arrived in France and was purchased from an antique dealer by the Franco-Algerian collector who declared he had contacted the family Maradona but without receiving any response.
