The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit of Catania have arrested a 41-year-old foreigner, convicted of crimes against property, for “escape”. As part of a patrolling service in the area, the attention of the military was attracted by a man, who was seen early in the morning, at around 6:00, while walking on foot, with a cautious attitude, going down Viale Mario Rapisardi. At that point the Carabinieri, traveling along the same road on board a gazelle towards the sea, having reached Piazza San Luigi, decided to slow down their march to get a better look at what might have seemed like one passerby among many.
Precisely this operation was operationally effective, since the crew recognized the man, remembering that he was subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest. The man, having noticed at a glance the presence of the Carabinieri, continued walking as if nothing had happened, perhaps hoping that they had not targeted “him”, however the soldiers immediately got out of the car and stopped him, avoiding any escape attempt. Subjected to the aforementioned measure only for a few days and being, at the time of the check, evidently “without” authorization to leave his home, the 41-year-old was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit. The Judicial Authority validated the arrest, ordering him to be subjected to the previous precautionary measure again.
