12 families isolated in Levico

It was another difficult day, Thursday, as far as rain is concerned: the whole thing territory of the province of Trento in fact, it was affected by strong thunderstorms and downpours. Who, in Valsugana, created problems: twelve families residents in two clusters of houses in the Valdrana areain the municipality of Levico Terme, found themselves isolated due to a landslide which could affect the access road.

The inspections

Volunteer firefighters, the Geological Service and the Municipality of Levico went to the site on Thursday. for an inspection along the detachment canal — about 200 meters long — which also moved large boulders (one of which reached 100 cubic meters). Fortunately, the homes are not threatened by possible new collapses. The provincial technicians, however, believe it necessary carry out a scaling of the blocks and implement then a vallotome on the border between the woods and the fields, upstream of the access road to the building in the area between Selva and Campiello. The mayor proposed that residents temporarily move into some accommodation made available by the Municipality or, alternatively, to remain in their homes with the possibility of moving only on foot along paths not affected by the landslide area.

Roads

Late on Thursday evening the provincial road 135 of the Val dei Mocheni was closed due to a landslide, at Canezza di Pergine Valsugana. The interruption to traffic in both directions was decided by the provincial administration which today, through the assessments of the geological service, will decide the methods to follow.
