Torino has difficulty scoring goals, but this was already understood. Now one could almost say that he no longer knows how to score. Since then there seems to have been a total blackout there. Juventus, Frosinone, Inter and Bologna: 4 games, many opportunities but no goals.
So much effort at home
Many times we have talked about how this year, compared to last season, Toro managed to improve its performance at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Lots of points, fewer defeats and very few goals conceded. These data, however, have overshadowed something worrying, also in this case linked to the goals scored. In 9 games out of 19 played in front of the fans, Zapata and his teammates they never scored, and the statistic has gotten worse in recent months. Even in the last 6 games Juric’s boys have only scored on one occasion, against Monza (with the penalty converted by Sanabria), remaining dry against less equipped opponents such as Frosinone. Everything becomes even more negative if the circle narrows further. In the recent three matches against Juventus, Frosinone and Bologna have arrived three 0-0swhere boredom has always reigned.
We need a twist in this ending
Therefore, if Ivan Juric managed to improve the defensive phase in this final season on the Toro bench, he took a lot away from the attackers and the attacking situations. In total there were 16 matches in which the Granata did not find the net, and only Empoli did worse. The goals scored are 31, much less than one per game on average. Many things need to change, and for a Toro who no longer has anything to lose we expect at least less boring challenges in this championship finale.
