TODI – Billboard of Prose season appreciated by the spectators of Municipality of Todi which increased by 30 percent, with an average of 390 spectators per performance83 more than the previous year, when an equally important progress had already been recorded compared to the average of 218 appearances in the 2021/22 season. Practically spectators doubled in two years.
“A success – states the municipal administration of Todi in a press note – which the Municipality shares with the Stabile Theater of Umbria, with whose collaboration the program of shows is set up, and which also reflects positively on the accounts of the culture sector. A significant contribution came from season tickets which increased by 25% compared to the 250 for the 2022/23 season, with a contribution coming from those of the students of the city’s educational institutions.
Several shows, among the nine scheduled, reached or came close to being sold out: those that grossed the most were “Perfect Strangers” by Paolo Genovese and “Fra’” by Giovanni Scifoni, for which the capacity of 500 seats was even insufficient to satisfy all requests.
The Comunale will now continue to be used: from 17 to 19 May it will be the venue for the Italian Dance Award and will host the dance school of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, then the works financed under the tender for the energy efficiency of public buildings will have to begin, which also includes the nineteenth-century Todi cultural structure. Before the start of the new prose season, in November, they will be there other events that will see the use of the Theater in the summerstarting with some international masterclasses in July and August and for the Sagra Musicale Umbra in September”.
“The new works – reassures the mayor of Todi in particular – they will have to do some slalom between what is plannedas already partly happened last year for the more demanding redevelopment of services for half a million euros”.
