In order to reassure citizens regarding the news appearing in today’s press regarding alleged thefts of fentanylthe director of the hospital pharmacy ofCareggi company of Florence specifies that “at the AOUC hospital pharmacy, after a further check carried out this morning by the undersigned and my on-call colleague on the registers, prescriptions and accounting and physical stocks, there is no evidence of any theft of fentanyl anesthetics (remifentanyl, sufentanil and fentanyl) from the pharmaceutical warehouse”.
“It is also important to reiterate – adds the Pharmacy Management – that in Careggi pharmacy, the verification of the correspondence between the physical and accounting stock, for all narcotic substances subject to the provisions of Presidential Decree 309/90, takes place daily at the end of the shift and at each movement. Movements to the departments always take place following a triplicate prescription and are always accompanied by a computerized and paper document showing the batch and expiry date of the medicine”.
