Following information-operational activities sequential to the analysis of data coming from the Territorial Army, as part of the activities aimed at preventing and repressing the phenomena of exploitation of work and undeclared work, to verify compliance with the legislation on health protection and the safety of workers in the workplace, the NIL Carabinieri of Rimini has strengthened controls in the healthcare sector, aimed at verifying the regular employment of workers and compliance with the regulations on health and safety in the workplace at hospital companies private and healthcare homes for the elderly.
In particular, an inspection was carried out at a healthcare residence for the elderly located in the province of Rimini during which they emerged numerous non-compliances relating to the regular hiring and employment of workers. In particular, there was the presence of 21 workers classified as self-employed workers, therefore holders of a VAT number, who, in fact, were employees in all respects as they lacked total autonomy, with time constraints, functionally included in the organization chart of the company and without any economic risk.
Reason why the company was accused of failing to send to the competent employment center the prior communication of employment as an employee of 21 workers starting from the year 2021, as well as the failure to deliver a copy of the employment contract to the workers as an employed worker. These violations resulted in administrative sanctions for the company totaling approximately 20,000 euros, as well as a warning to pay the social security contributions not paid to irregularly employed workers, amounting to 1,600,000 euros.
