The flavors of Tuscia: a food and wine journey in the heart of the province of Viterbo

“The Flavors of Tuscia” is the title of the journalist and writer’s new book Antonio Castellowhich offers an in-depth food and wine journey through the village festivals and festivals of the province of Viterbo.

During the event “Tastings – Lazio Food and Wine Exhibition” in Viterbo, the new volume by Antonio Castello was officially presented. The book, entitled “The Flavors of Tuscia – Food and wine journey through the village festivals and celebrations”adds to the author’s vast collection of works, including a trilogy on Italian folklore: “Almanac of Feast Days” (published by Vallardi), dedicated to religious holidays in Italy; “Time travel” (Historical Reenactments) e “Masks and Confetti” (Carnivals of Italy).

“The Flavors of Tuscia” examines the typical products and gastronomy of the province of Viterbo, placing local festivals and festivals as protagonists in the celebration of the true flavors and aromas of traditional cuisine.

With the belief that a festival, in addition to promoting a product or a dish, must be closely linked to the history and peculiarities of the place in which it takes place, the author provides information for each location on the main economic activities, gastronomy, history and tourist attractions.

Antonio Castelloa profound expert on these realities, having already explored similar themes in works such as “Flavors and Pleasures of Italy” (Editrice Sallustiana) e “Guide to the Food and Wine Festivals of Lazio” (published by ARSIAL and the Lazio Region), underlines the importance of three essential elements for an authentic food and wine festival: the place with all its potential, the history of the people who live there and the tradition of the product celebrated.

Unlike his previous publications, in this guide the author focuses attention on a narrower geographical area: the Tusciatoday identified with the province of Viterbo, one of the few areas that can still boast a strong agricultural vocation.

Through local festivals and festivals, the author presents the agricultural excellence of the area, increasingly recognized at a national level, and a wealth that continues to grow in quality and value. To tell about the new publication is Agenfood.
