«The great urban regenerations of Perugia, from Ponte San Giovanni to the urban agenda of San Sisto passing from the San Marco project to the recovery of the Fontivegge district, represent a path that has begun that looks to the future of our city – explains Margherita Scoccia -. We have recently obtained very important funding to relaunch the Rocca Paolina which we want to make into a real cultural hub in which to convey new functions tailored to families with children”. Scoccia also talks about the Turreno Theater and the Covered Market so that «the historic center becomes more and more a strategic place of culture, hospitality and history», then focusing on the restoration of the medieval aqueduct, the churches of San Benedetto and San Bevignate, on the palatenda which will host major events, daily sports for children and indoor musical concerts, and on the Justice Park: «For more than half a century there has been talk of the judicial citadel but only with this administration is the Justice Park finally about to become a reality in the old prison in Piazza Partigiani”. Why the title «Perugia at the center»? «Perugia has all it takes to become an increasingly protagonist in a dimension that goes beyond the borders of the capital – explains Scoccia – in the role of economic attractor and development of the provincial territory».
