The number one of Confindustria Venezia takes over from the former rector of Ca’ Foscari Michele Bugliesi

Changing of the guard at the top of the Fondazione di Venezia from today, 3 May, after the approval of the 2023 final budget. The former Rector of Ca’ Foscari Michele Bugliesi it has in fact passed its hand to the current president of Confindustria Venezia and vice president of the national Confindustria Vincenzo Marinese. Born in Palermo in 1968, Marinese studied at Hamiline University in Minnesota and specialized in Management for small and medium-sized enterprises at Luiss University. Already a member of the Board of the Venice Rovigo Chamber of Commerce and of the Development Board of the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as well as of the Il Campiello Foundation and the Venice Boat Show, member of the Board of Directors of Thetis Spa, he joined the Board of Directors of the Foundation in 2019 of Venice, becoming vice-president in 2020. Currently he is the sole director of Sirai of Porto Margheraa leading company in the design and execution of soil and groundwater remediation interventions and industrial reclamation.

“I congratulate Vincenzo Marinese – declares Michele Bugliesi, outgoing president – for his appointment as new president of a Foundation thatand, thanks to his guidance, it will not fail to give further satisfaction. The budget just approved is, in this sense, a good omen, with a new increase in net assets and the confirmed trend towards cost contraction. I am sure that with the new presidency the Venice Foundation will consolidate this virtuous path, enriching it with new stimuli for innovative interventions”.

I thank the General Council for the trust placed in me with the appointment as President – this is the first comment from the newly elected Vincenzo Marinese – a prestigious commitment that I intend to honor through the promotion of interventions that always have people, culture and the development of the Venetian territory at their centre. I am thinking in particular of three lines of action that are strategic for me, namely sharing, dialogue as an element of aggregation, identity as a value capable of best expressing what the Foundation actually is. And which gives the sign of a future made of participation at all levels. My thanks obviously also go to Professor Michele Bugliesi, from whom I collect the legacy of a solid Foundation which I wish to be recognized more and more every day as a catalyst for a new system of integrated, sustainable and regenerative relationships within the city and beyond. A true Venice System of which the Foundation will be an increasingly authoritative and recognized fulcrum.”
