Saviano, 04/29/2024 – The promotional journey of the book L’Isola che c’è, published by Edizioni Il Papavero, continues. After winning the 2024 Junior Candelaio Award, awarded last March 7th in Nola by the PassePartout Association of Nola at the Archaeological Museum, the writer, musician and teacher from Saviano Filomena Carrella will meet the public in the beautiful setting of the Circolo della Stampa of Avellino on Saturday 4th May at 6.00 pm
The Candelaio Junior Award, now in its ninth edition, is a tribute to the memory of Giordano Bruno, philosopher, writer and thinker of the Renaissance, born in Nola. Bruno was a pioneer of free thought and knowledge, and the prize that bears his name aims to promote the ideals of intellectual freedom and creativity that underpin his legacy.

“The Island that exists – comments the author – is not just a fairy tale for children, but is a declaration of love for nature, for environmental and animal sensitivity. It is a fantasy story which however concerns everyone we, including adults, are too distracted and often too far from the beauty that only uncontaminated nature, friendship and kindness can give. Everything is set on the beautiful island of Filicudi, in Sicily, my favorite place.

The presence of colleagues and colleagues, lovers of culture and books, made the presentation special. With her there will be Anna Maria Silvestro (President of the Passepartout Association), the journalist of Il Mattino Carmela Maietta who will moderate the meeting, the journalist of Il Corriere dell’Irpinia, Floriana Guerriero, the essayist Ettore Donadio, Rosa Barone, historical bookseller and member founder of the Passepartout association, Martina Bruno, publisher with Il Papavero Edizioni and last but not least, the actor and writer Gennaro Caliendo who will read some passages from the book and the cellist Vladimiro Kocaqi who will color the encounter.

“I am really happy and honored to present my book in such an important place for me, as a journalist, and for the city of Avellino. I warmly thank all the people who made this meeting possible – comments the author”

The invitation to participate in the day is open to everyone, lovers of children’s literature and culture in general, which celebrates not only the talent of Filomena Carrella, but also the beauty of nature and the beauty of sharing thoughts and emotions through these meetings.
