” Unfortunately, the carnival of some people with the effigies of the IX Corpus Titino and with the Yugoslav flag with the red star was repeated again this year on the occasion of the May 1st procession.
Obviously all this in the indifference of the other participants and the political representatives present.
We have already witnessed an unfortunate procession in front of the Risiera on April 25th and today the memory of the martyrs of the Foibe is once again offended, given that in Trieste May 1st marked the beginning of the occupation of Tito’s communists who evidently still have some haggard nostalgic.
It is clear that the disfigurement of the Martyrs of the Foibe offends the memory of this city and of the many families of our fellow citizens who experienced the drama of the Exodus and Tito’s ethnic cleansing and for this reason we will continue to condemn these ridiculous, offensive and demonstrate once again that denialism must be fought.
I hope that the left strikes a blow even if the total indifference to today’s demonstration already says it all about the hypocrisy of those who do not want, for some consensus, to explicitly condemn these individuals who I hope will be prosecuted by the competent authorities”.
