Sorrento celebrating the 190th anniversary of the Hotel Excelsior Vittoria

Sorrento celebrating the 190th anniversary of the Hotel Excelsior Vittoria The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, iconic 5-star luxury hotel in Sorrento, with breathtaking views of Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples, celebrates 190 years since its foundation, a fascinating story of attention, love , perseverance, work, passion, which sees the Fiorentino family as protagonists. It is not only one of the best hotels in Campania, but in the world.

Founded in 1834 by Aniello Rispoli, whose daughter married years later Raffaele Fiorentino, already an established entrepreneur in Sorrento, who took over the entire property with the construction of two new buildings, the Favorita and the Rivale, the structure has been managed by the Fiorentino family for six generations.

The three buildings, of different architectural inspiration, but linked by a common destiny, are chained together to form the hotel complex as it appears today, immersed in the lush vegetation of a large two-hectare Mediterranean park in the heart of the center of Sorrento, unique in its kind .

The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria was built on volcanic rock above an archaeological site where the villa of the Roman emperor Augustus stood. Excellence of Italian hospitality, always current, the hotel has hosted (and still hosts today) celebrities and personalities and, although it is now equipped with every comfort and technology, it proudly maintains its original characteristics and its soul.

It celebrated 190 years with a grand gala in the refined Vittoria room with exceptional guests, including the famous actress and singer Lina Sastri and the young opera artists from the Accademia del Teatro San Carlo in Naples. During the evening the pianist and jazz player Dado Moroni, the saxophonist Francesco Cafiso and the singer Karima also performed.

For the occasion, executive chef Antonino Montefusco studied a menu that could celebrate the long history of the hotel. Starting from the dishes of an ancient menu of the structure, the chef proposed contemporary reworkings without losing sight of the Neapolitan tradition, accompanying guests on a unique and unforgettable journey among the flavors and smells of the Sorrento peninsula.
