The staff of the Traffic Police Section of Perugia met the students of the primary school of the “Maria Montessori” Institute of Perugia for a lesson on legality and compliance with the rules governing road traffic. During the meeting, the Traffic Police staff interacted with around 100 children from the fourth and fifth grades, answering numerous questions with the aim of educating future generations to respect the rules of the Highway Code and making them reflect, especially the most young people, on the data of road victims, always very high. During the lesson, which is part of the “BiciScuola” project, an initiative related to the Giro d’Italia and promoted by RCS Sport – La Gazzetta dello Sport and aimed at primary school pupils throughout Italy, the police also raised awareness of the children to use bicycles, an alternative and “green” means of transport, and addressed the issues of road safety and education, thus countering the ideas and behaviors that too frequently put them at risk on the roads. The lesson attracted great interest among both students and teachers. The meetings will continue in the coming months in other schools in the province.
