With a great test of character, Taranto prevailed in the difficult away match against Latina. The rossoblù found the lead in the 27th minute with Zonta, who did well to beat goalkeeper Guadagno with a lob after a nice combination with Simeri and Kanoute. In the 36th minute Simeri doubled the lead as he returned a loose ball into the net. At the beginning of the second half Mastroianni reopened hopes for the Nerazzurri, but the Ionian team did well to resist the Lazio team’s forcing and bring home three golden points.
