Given how things have turned out in the Norman Democratic Party, it is not a surprise if in the last few hours the political discussion on the municipal elections has moved within the Rome-Naples-Caserta-Aversa quadrilateral. From the Nazarene there was an opening to the seven outgoing municipal administrators who asked the city commissioner Eugenio Marino and the provincial commissioner Susanna Camusso two essential questions: the lack of involvement in the choice of Mauro Baldascino at the helm of the center-left coalition and the presumed lack of capacity of the leader to express an added value capable of making the coalition competitive from an electoral perspective. After a frank, albeit close, discussion, the position of the former deputy mayor Marco Villano, the former councilors Elena Caterino and Marco Girone and the former councilors Pasquale Fiorenzano, Erika Alma, Vincenzo Angelino and Maria Vittoria D’Alterio took hold. The OK came from Rome for the attempt to find a synthesis to deploy the best energies to win the local elections. “The Democratic Party will be involved with the most representative forces to beat the right”, this in a nutshell is the orientation of the democrats from Rome to Aversa. The regional commissioner Antonio Misiani also played an important mediation role, in close contact with Marino and Camusso. Is peace back in the Aversa Democratic Party? Maybe it’s too early to tell. But dialogue has certainly resumed at all levels. On the city front, surprises cannot be ruled out regarding the name of the candidate for mayor. Much will depend on what the various components of the broad camp, made up of the Pd, M5S, La Politica che Serve, Democratic Center, AVS and progressive Aversa, will put into play. Villano, Caterino, Girone, Fiorenzano, Alma, Angelino and D’Alterio already have 10 names ready to be included in the dem list. They will be part of it too. A way to say to allies: “We put our face to it, what about you? The seven former administrators have always worked for the construction of the wide field and will remain in that area. They asked to expand the coalition to Italia Viva e Azione. Proposal rejected. The perimeter of the center-left has already been traced and that remains. But in these hours the issue of the composition of the lists becomes crucial. Whoever supports Baldascino, which names will he field? A topic of no small importance. If the acronyms are “emptied” by the big names, there is a risk of having an electoral campaign of testimony. A scenario that both the former seven administrators and the PD leaders want to avoid. But so far the allies have not revealed their cards. The Dems are also accelerating because according to the internal self-regulation code the names of the candidates will be examined by Franco Roberti. The MEP, former president of the national DDA, was appointed by Elly Schelin to evaluate the teams running for the local elections on 8 and 9 June. In short, for now Baldascino is resisting. But his name could be seriously questioned in the event of an agreement between Villano, the former mayor Alfonso Golia and the 5 Star Movement. By tomorrow, when time x strikes, we will know more.
