Savona, public transport strike on May 16th

Savona. Tpl bus strike, Monday.

“Following the lack of responses and initiatives on the part of the Province of Savona to the requests of the union representation of the TPL Linea workers, to the need for economic support of the Savona public transport – we read in a union note from Rai – a strike for next Monday 6 May from 10.30am to 2.30pm.

“The trade union organizations – they continue – ask the Liguria Region for an indispensable adjustment of the mileage reimbursement which has been stopped for years, and from the Province of Savona and the 69 Savona municipalities that own TPL Linea, the adjustment of the contribution foreseen by the program agreement which is also dated about 10 years ago, as well as a project for the management of public transport, an important resource for the Savona area”.

“The workers – underline the unions – do not want to pay the price of the lack of political and management choices which risk sinking an important Savona company with increasingly worse working and economic conditions. In the absence of responses, a further 24-hour strike will be called on May 27th.”
