«Piazza Moro remains free» – Teramo

ADRIATIC SUNRISE. The opposition group Noi Alba reiterates its no to the establishment of new paid parking in the city, announced two days ago by the administration. We are Alba, a few weeks ago, had anticipated the implementation of the council resolution establishing new paid car parks and, with a question to the council, had asked for it to be stopped, with particular regard to the maxi car park in Piazza Moro, two steps from the northern seafront of Alba Adriatica. To the traffic councilor of the Casciotti council, Giuliano Vallese, the opposition group had asked whether the concerns of citizens, commercial operators, beachgoers and hoteliers on the first stretch of the northern seafront were legitimate regarding the establishment of paid parking in Piazza Aldo Moro, where there are 196 parking stalls, of which six reserved for the disabled. «This choice constitutes a further penalization for the citizens and businesses of the area who, already forced to live with the reduction of users due to the phenomenon of erosion, would see the inconvenience worsen even more», claims the opposition, «the council group We are Alba does not agree with, indeed, it believes this decision to be completely incomprehensible, especially in light of the political will to reduce parking spaces on the Marconi seafront following the renovation works. We therefore ask you to rethink this choice, leaving parking free and avoiding greater expense for citizens and a further burden for all commercial operators in the area.” Obviously the indication of the minority led by the group leader Massimo Marconi went unheeded, as the council had decided to do so.
Still on the topic of parking, the city councilor spoke in another session Amber Foracappa of Siamo Alba has drawn attention to the problem of parking of heavy vehicles in central streets such as via Duca d’Aosta, Paolo Borsellino, Giovanni Falcone, Don Milani and Duca degli Abruzzi, for which it has asked for a suitable parking area for parking of heavy vehicles by establishing bans in other areas “aimed at guaranteeing the protection of the citizen, especially in the town center and in the streets indicated, where the phenomenon of uncontrolled parking of heavy vehicles is recorded, to protect the safety and health of all the citizens”.
