no alcohol sales for the holidays and limits on music

With a provision from the mayor Massimo Grillo it was disciplined in Marsala – in the next few days of April 25th and 30th, as well as May 1st – the sale, administration and consumption of alcoholic/superalcoholic drinks, both in fixed and itinerant form. Throughout the municipal territory, these activities will therefore be permitted exclusively within the assigned public spaces or spaces, with a consequent ban on the possession and consumption of the aforementioned drinks in public places, including those dispensed from vending machines.

Among other things, public holidays and their respective eves are moments of aggregation that must be protected, also safeguarding the decorum of places where architectural assets often exist. Mayor Grillo: “The objective is to prevent unpleasant episodes connected to nightlife and urban safety, taking into account that alcohol consumption causes violent behavior, often associated with disturbance of public peace and disorderly drunkenness”. The union ordinance also addresses the issue of respecting the limits of both live and reproduced music diffusion. This, both inside and outside public establishments, can take place in the time slot between 10am and 1am the following day, in order to safeguard public peace and respect the residents’ right to rest at night. It is highlighted, as reported in the union provision, that sound diffusion encounters further limitations and restrictions when practiced in areas subject to special environmental protection regulations (e.g. Sic Zones). Clauses shared with the relevant authorities who are currently undertaking the necessary checks. Violations of the prohibitions imposed by the union ordinance can lead to the suspension of commercial activity for up to 7 days.
