Ragusa – “The Iblean quarries, Anthropological, Faunistic and Floristic Microcosm”. One of the best ways to explore, get to know and enhance the beauties of our territory is to immerse yourself in the Hyblaean nature, practicing photographic trekking. The Orazio Giunta photo-trekking Association was born with the intention of pursuing these aims and organizes, with the with the help of expert guides, routes suitable for discovering the scenic and archaeological beauties of which our territory is rich. The valorisation of the great Iblean potential, both naturalistic/architectural and human, is the ultimate goal of our Association which also works in the artistic and cultural field through the organization of conventions, conferences and musical performances (classical and jazz). The trekking program offers the opportunity to discover many splendid quarries (Cava Misericordia, Cava dei Servi, Cava Gonfalone, Cava d’Ispica, Pantalica) and will take us through forest parks and golden beaches.
The excursions are combined with a photography competition. The next trek will take place on Sunday 21 April in Cava dei Servi, a nature reserve in the San Giacomo area, rich in finds dating back to the Bronze Age and crossed by the Tellesimo stream. For reservations call 339.7941035,
