AGSM 2022- 500X200

The contribution that the National Council of Architects , Planners, Landscapers and Conservators (CNAPPC) intends to provide politics through “Project for the future – In which cities and territories do we want to live?” The Mayor and the Deputy Mayor-Councillor for Urban Planning will speak at the conference which will take place on Monday 22 April starting from 9.30 in the Verdi Auditorium of the Veronafiere Congress Center and which will offer a day of discussion, round tables and lectio magistralisAn opportunity to bear witness to the work carried out by the municipal administration which has recently started the rewriting of the new territorial planning plan of the city. Principles and objectives of the Veronese intervention are in line with the project which aims to identify strategies to develop urban proximity, so that it becomes a lever for transformation, according to the guiding principles of the ecology of accessibility, solidarity and participation. With “Viviamo Verona”, after an initial phase of discussion with the presidents of the districts and the municipal councillors, appointments are in fact underway in the 8 districts. The meetings, open to all citizens, have the aim of entering the heart of the territories and giving voice to the residents of the various neighborhoods to have a real mapping of the city’s needs, listening to the different points of view on the quality of local and local services on the quality of life in the neighborhoods. The effectiveness of the process is demonstrated by the high participation in the meetings that have already been held and scheduled until May 11th. The deputy mayor and councilor for urban planning of the Municipality of Verona explains: “This is an important stage in understanding and share the vision underlying the revision of the Territorial Planning Plan of the Municipality of Verona and the importance of the participation and listening process underway with the involvement of the Districts, which is not part of the procedure regulated by law, and which aims to bring out the needs and interests of the people who live in the neighborhoods, to redesign, in a strategic perspective, “human” places, places truly tailored to those who live there and have a significant connection with the city”. The CNAPPC project, which after the Verona conference it envisages initiatives in the center and south of our country, makes use of the contributions of a specific operational group of experts and of an authoritative multidisciplinary international scientific committee chaired by Carlos Moreno, internationally renowned academic, Professor at the University IAE Paris 1 Sorbonne, creator of the “15 minute cities”. The objective is to provide concrete contributions to the Legislator, public administrations and public opinion to reinvent the challenge of urban regeneration in our cities and territories, through innovative paradigms of territorial governance, thus imagining other ways of living, to work, to move. This is a model which must have at its center the concept of proximity, to which the Covid-19 pandemic has given a completely new and unexpected impetus, which throughout the world is proving to be optimal for improving travel, reducing pollution, improve the economy and transform urban space, with particular attention to the decisive role played by the landscape in the quality of urban life.
