Last act of the regular season in sight for Stosa, which on Saturday 20 April at 6 pm will host Robur Basket Saronno at the PalaEstra in Siena for the last day of Play-In before the start of the Playoffs. On the occasion of the challenge which will be exceptionally played at the PalaEstra, Virtus has organized a great event to celebrate the entry into the Playoffs which will involve the city and district officials, the children of mini-basketball, the friendly clubs and all the sponsors who supported the team in this season. Virtus arrives at the challenge from the beautiful victory in Casale Monferrato which gave the rossoblu mathematical access to the Playoffs. Saronno is also already confident of the postseason, having guaranteed first place in the group with the victory against Empoli in the last round. In the first leg, the hosts from Saronno prevailed 86-69.
«Saronno comes to us after having deservedly conquered first place in the standings, they are a strong team and they have demonstrated it – says Stosa coach Edoardo Ceccarelli – Their strength is in the collective, they have 8 players close to double figures on average, they have many shooters and their game is choral. Rather than focusing on an individual, we will have to be good at limiting the situations in which they take an advantage, because they are very skilled at turning a small advantage into an open shot in a very short time. It will be a tough match, to be played with great clarity, but once again the boys have had an exemplary week of training out of desire and dedication, and I expect the quality they have shown in the last period from them, to enter the Playoffs at their best that we have earned.”
