GALLARATE – The decision was taken this morning, Friday 19 April, during the meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, which had been convened by the Prefect of Varese, Salvatore Pasquariello. The mayor was also present at the meeting Andrea Cassani and the commander of the local police Aurelio Giannini. The eviction was necessary for reasons of public hygiene, and the operations will be arranged in compliance with what is present in the municipal ordinance at the request of the Fire Brigade and the ATS. Both the civilian homes and the commercial premises located in the building will be cleared out.

The first complaints began last summer, when the residents of the building began to highlight situations of serious precariousness, such as abuse and structural problems in a condominium that had already been without heating for some time in 2022. The situation then worsened in the first days of November, due to a sewerage failure and the flooding of an apartment with infiltrations near a shop on the ground floor.
