confiscated from an entrepreneur from Andria

ANDRIA – The value of the movable and immovable assets confiscated from Giuseppe Magno, a 58-year-old entrepreneur from Andria currently imprisoned in Bari prison, amounts to 80 million euros. The confiscation decree, executed by the carabinieri, was issued by the second section of the Court of Cassation with which it was confirmed that the assets accumulated over the last 30 years by the man and his family are the proceeds of illicit activities linked “essentially to robberies against armored vehicles and trucks, and thefts from ATMs”, the investigators explain.

The confiscation concerned 119 agricultural lands covering over 530 hectares, 3 agricultural companies, 23 vehicles of various types including 6 cars including a Porsche Panamera, financial resources, 29 properties including apartments, villas, commercial premises, industrial warehouses, the car park in via Canosa and the 58-year-old’s residential home worth around three million euros.

According to what was ascertained by the investigations, which began five years ago, Magno and his family managed to make purchases, create businesses and carry out financial transactions thanks to criminal activities which highlighted «not only the high level of danger but above all the illicit origin of capital”.
