Tram, Città 30, parking but also degradation and safety. There are many concerns that emerged last night at the demonstration under the portico of Piazza Maggiore: shopkeepers dealing with construction sites, taxi drivers, committees and centre-right parties. Almost a hundred people responded to the call of ‘A changing Bologna’, the day after the opening of the ‘building site’ in via Riva Reno. “Many didn’t come today because they are afraid of retaliation”, he assures on his running board the leader of the movement Giorgio Gorza, who did not fail to attack the mayor Matteo Lepore “who must put something concrete in place”. There is also some attack on the centre-right (“stop tram and Città 30 since they are in government”), while the League, with the group leader Matteo Di Benedetto and the city secretary Cristiano Di Martino, have brought their “support to the street merchants Riva Reno, via San Felice and all the surrounding streets, which are at great risk due to Lepore’s choices. Commercial establishments risk closing because this council does not want to assume its responsibilities and take on the losses caused.”

Also in the square is the former centre-right mayoral candidate Fabio Battistini, who focuses in particular on the tram: “It’s a scandal that people only know when they find the bulldozer under their house and can’t park”. In this regard, yesterday morning councilor Valentina Orioli with her colleague Luisa Guidone returned to the site, also meeting Renato Nucci of Ascom who highlighted the many critical issues in the area, asking for more rotating parking. The ‘Abolition Bologna 30’ committee was also present in the square. Councilor Orioli’s statement did not go unnoticed when she announced that from next week “controls will increase. The local police will be present on more roads”.
