Anyone who had the chance to go to Bologna on May 1st for the WWE live event can certainly be satisfied with what they were able to witness. The number of injuries did not discourage those who obtained one of the coveted tickets for World Wrestling Entertainment’s return to Italy and the wait seems to have been 100% worth it.
Even in view of Backlash the roster was not second choice in the slightest: it cannot be defined as such when the presence list includes names such as Becky Lynch, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Randy Orton, Jey Uso and the current Raw tag team champions The Miz and R-Truth.
The results of the Bologna Live Event:
- WWE Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) defeats Ludwig Kaiser
- Naomi, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defeat Damage CRTL
- After the match the winners posed in the ring with the Italian flag
- Only Sikoa and Tama Tonga beat Randy Orton and LA Knight
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4 Way: Damian Priest (c) defeats Chad Gable, Gunther and Jey Uso
- WWE Raw Tag Team Championship: The Awesome Truth (c) defeat Finn Balor and JD McDonagh
- WWE Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) defeats Nia Jax
- WWE Undisputed Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) defeats Shinsuke Nakamura
- After the match Cody Rhodes invited the crowd to make themselves heard, hinting that we might not have to wait long for something important in Italy.
The reception given to the WWE was certainly one of the best, and the turnout estimated so far is well above the wildest expectations.
Now all we can do is hope that WWE doesn’t make us wait long before replicating a great made in Italy experience!
