5.33pm CASERTA. The conference of the Mayors belonging to the territorial area of the Local Health Authority (ASL) Caserta, held this morning in the Council Room of the Municipality of Caserta, saw an important discussion between the General Director of the ASL Caserta, Amedeo Blasottiand over thirty first citizens of the province.
During the meeting, chaired by the Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino, Director Blasotti gave the illustrative report on the new organizational model of the territorial healthcare network provided for by the inter-ministerial decree of a regulatory nature of 23 May 2022, published in the Official Journal General Series n.144 of 22 June 2022 (PNRR – Health). Blasotti encouraged the Mayors, who represent the true protection of the territories, to strengthen the dialogue with the Local Health Authority to ensure citizens have local healthcare that is truly close to their needs.
The Director then confirmed that a real health citadel will be created in Caserta to be built in the Acquaviva district, in the former Saint Gobain area. And then Caserta will have an operations and service center, with the use of the new European emergency number (116117). Blasotti also announced the ASL’s willingness to purchase the property in which the Palazzo della Salute is located.
The Caserta health citadel will see the birth of a community hospital and a community house, which will be located in the Saint Gobain area right near the Palazzo della Salute. These interventions will be carried out thanks to the funds of Measure “6. Healthcare” as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), with an investment of over 3 million euros. This real health center for the Acquaviva district and for the entire southern urban area of the city will be added to the activities of the nascent Polyclinic, and will be uniform, in terms of local health services, with the Northern area, served by the hospital ” Sant’Anna and San Sebastiano”.
“It was an important meeting – explained the Mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino – in which the current healthcare situation in the province of Caserta was discussed and how to build new healthcare facilities, guaranteeing adequate social and welfare services, thanks to a close synergy between Municipalities and Local Health Authorities. We will have, in the former Saint Gobain area and on the land that the Municipality of Caserta ceded to the ASL, a community hospital and a community house. With the acquisition of the Palazzo della Salute by the ASL and with the activities of the nascent Polyclinic, a new center will be established for the right to health of the citizens not only of Caserta, but of the entire conurbation”.
