The Turin with the defeat against Inter it effectively said goodbye to the possibility of placing itself in a useful place to play in the play-offs for the Conference League, missing only four more games at the end of the championship and being in 10th place, four points behind Napoli and Fiorentina , with the latter also having to recover the match against Atalanta. The arithmetic does not completely exclude the grenades, but the situation has become truly very complicated.
The Turin coach, Ivan Juric soon he will present the match against the Bologna which will be played tomorrow at 8.45pm at the Grande Torino Olimpico stadium.
What are the biggest risks with Bologna?
“It’s the team that impressed me the most this year. They play really well and have fantastic running and spirit. As I see them, they are a strong and great team and you have to face them to the fullest otherwise you really risk it.”
What tactical analysis can be made of Bologna?
“After a long time I saw something new and I liked how the team was built by Thiago and the sporting director. There are all European level players with strength and technique characteristics. He has a particular game with a very interesting harmony which isn’t even seen abroad. I’m curious to see Thiago’s progression where it will take him when he goes to other teams and what he will do.”
Did you expect Thiago Motta to reach these levels?
“He was already a genius in football when we played together and it doesn’t surprise me that he has reached this level. He needed time in Genoa and Spezia and now in Bologna he has found his dimension. His football background between Barcelona, Inter and the other teams with what he is doing brings him to a great team, he will have a great career. I’m very curious to see how he will continue his career because he has done very interesting things.”
With Inter the defense was deployed with four and not as usual with three, will you continue like this?
“We’ll see. I really liked Toro in the first half against Inter, we played at a very high level, we conceded very little and created more than them. It’s certainly a valid option in the future too.”
Do you have the energy to change the inertia of lack of results?
“These are points of view. For me the season is a great success and if we haven’t reached the maximum peaks of joy, let’s also remember where Torino was. We need to be careful with our words. The team must have energy.”
Why is tenth place the constant?

If it was possible or not to do more, analyzes will be carried out to understand it and see where we went wrong or if we have brought out the maximum of what could be done. I have my ideas on what could be done more and better to achieve even more.”
What motivations does the team have for the last four matches given that Europe now seems impossible or almost impossible to reach?
“You’ve asked me this question often. It’s tough in Turin and every match is an opportunity, you’re defending an important jersey: these things are enough and advance as motivation, desire to do and everything. I don’t ask myself this problem. Every year we have problems with contract deadlines, someone is on loan and maybe someone wants to leave, but when the match arrives everyone trains hard and we prepare, like against Inter, to do our best. Then if it happens, there is no other discussion something I notice, react and go and solve it. I always see the team on track.”
Tomorrow there will be only one striker or there will be two attackers and in this case Pellegri will have space?
“Later we will do training and see how to deal with them and then we will decide on everything.”
Do you have the inertia to change this lack of results?

Win or lose, but you are always tenth. Is tenth place the ideal placement?
“No. They are always points of view…In other places, tenth place is a great result, looking at the budget and situations it is an excellent result. Then seeing what I think about the history and the joy of the fans, Toro must have an objective, structure and work to be better than tenth place. On the one hand, it is a great job starting from 17th place in this three-year period , but it’s not true joy”
Could these be the last conferences here?
“Will you miss me? (laughs, ed.)”
What is Juric’s regret at the moment?
“We made many good decisions, otherwise you wouldn’t have gone from what Toro was like for three years to a comfortable and positive situation with so many young people today. But there were also mistakes made, as in all jobs. There were situations in which could have done better”
And outside of work, in the relationship with the city and with the history of Toro?
“We need to understand yourselves because you are not a simple people, you are very complex. Spending time with the fans, you are complex: not normal (laughs, ed.). You are a complex people who need to be understood, sometimes at the beginning you don’t understand certain reactions because you don’t you have the baggage to understand them, this is the story, I understand you now and even when I talk to fan friends I understand that we need to not settle and push, some are not right for me, but they should be more intense.”
What would you have done differently in these three years?
“I wouldn’t give so much confidence if someone has never scored a goal or anything similar, I would think more about the statistics and history of the players. I would be much more careful about this”
An important gap has been created with Bologna: where is the difference?
“They did everything well, they put the pieces of the puzzle in place and took European and young players. They got everything right with Thiago Motta who is on another level. They have a double team, there are 20 players more or less of the same level And then the coach made the difference.”
What advice would you give Torino for growth?
“I don’t know…The president is ambitious and wants to do well. I would keep everyone and buy three or four. So I would try to get more. Or sell everything and start from scratch: black or white, I would do Like this”
What’s new in training?
“Linetty is back, while Lovato had what appears to be a muscle problem. And Tameze won’t be there due to disqualification”
Could the 53 point goal be the record of your three-year period?
“My only disappointment was Frosinone in the last four or five months, they stayed there. Otherwise we played good football. I’m more than motivated for Bologna, it’s an important team and it’s new, you can see if you can compete with them. Even in the subsequent games they give you a great push: the group is healthy and wants to do the best possible. The goal is to do the best possible, now we think Bologna is a good test and we want to score as many points as possible.”
Did you think it could be your last May 4th at Superga?
“It was a great emotion. Last year some players weren’t able to come while Buongiorno was reading the names: we need to organize it better so that everyone understands what it means. I want them all to be present and to receive a further push to be proud of being here. It’s an important day for all of us.”
