There is only a fringe of escapees.” The engineer Grazia Cosentino, interviewed during the in-depth program “Qg talks” on TeleGela, hosted by Jerry Italia, for the first time gets to the heart of the political issues that form the broad backdrop to this pre-election phase. “I know I’m new in the context of politics and maybe people don’t immediately associate my name – she says – however, I have to say that the first feedback is already favourable”. Her programmatic line focuses on a target in which she has worked for thirty-six years. The former municipal manager, in fact, believes that the city can start again if the municipality becomes efficient again. “We must immediately focus on the resources that exist, albeit limited. Financial disruption must be addressed – he continues – but we must also deal with organizational disruption. Hiring is needed, starting with new managers.” The center-right of the parties chose to focus on its race and the Brothers of Italy took a step back, with the resignation of the group leader Vincenzo Casciana. Several big vote getters who place themselves in that area have distanced themselves. That of the “female candidate”, the first ever for the mayor’s seat, is a theme on which the secretaries of the allied parties have insisted. “It is not only a great responsibility but first and foremost an honour, for me – adds Cosentino – the poisons on the shadow governments of the SRR? I have never been a candidate for shadow governments. We send the poisons back to the sender.” The question of the candidates of the SRR, the companies that supervise the local waste system, was raised by the MPA leader Raffaele Lombardo, during a convention held in the city.
