Giro Next Gen 2024, starting from Aosta on 9 June

The sixteen stages of the Under23 cycling race have been presented: the first will take place in Valle d’Aosta

The 2024 edition of the Giro Next Gen, a sporting competition for Under23 cyclists which will see the Aosta Valley as the starting region, was presented this morning in Rome.

The program of the event organized by RCS Sport on behalf of the Italian Cycling Federation includes the presentation ceremony of the teams registered for the pink race on Saturday 8 June in Aosta, an individual time trial on Sunday 9 also in Aosta, the Aymavilles-Saint-Vincent road stage Monday 10th and the departure of the Verrès-Pian della Mussa stage on Monday 11th June.

The first stage, that of 9 June, involves the departure and arrival in the regional capital, in the area of ​​the new university centre. The circuit measures 11 kilometers and includes a half-way climb in Saint-Christophe, in the Toules area.

On Monday 10 June the pink caravan will leave from Aymavilles to head towards Courmayeur; from there the return facing the climb of Les Combes di Introd and then continuing through the entire central valley using the Envers roads until reaching Saint-Vincent. Here there will be a small circuit with a mountain grand prix 7 km from the finish. The stage from Aymavilles and Saint-Vincent measures 121 kilometres.

On Tuesday 11 June the Giro Next Gen will start from Verrès and arrive at Pian della Mussa, a 127 kilometer stage along the Dora Baltea and through the Canavese before tackling the first uphill finish at Pian della Mussa, in the Lanzo valleys.

The Giro will continue for another five stages and will end on the hills of the Cesena Apennines, in Forlimpopoli.
