Following the exceptional meteorological events that occurred in the days from 26 November to 4 December 2022, in the territory of the Province of Crotone, the Ionian belt of the Provinces of Catanzaro and Cosenza and the Municipality of San Lucido, in the Province of Cosenza, the Government has decided , on the proposal of the Minister for Civil Protection Nello Musumeci, the extension of the state of emergency for a further 12 months.

The provision, specifies the Ministry for Civil Protection, “it is necessary in order to allow the continuation and completion of the activities still underway and for the implementation of the measures necessary to overcome the emergency situation. Interventions for which 18 million and 900 thousand euros have already been allocated.”
