Taranto, breakfast concert with Verdi and Beethoven

Sunday 21 April at 9.30, for the “Breakfast Concerts”, the program includes the prelude from La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi and the Symphony no. 1 by Ludwig Van Beethoven, with the Orchestra of Magna Grecia conducted by Maestro Domenico Famà. Free admission.

In the creation of the “Breakfast Concerts”, organized by the ICO Magna Grecia, the Municipality of Taranto and in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the collaboration of prestigious local activities and associations stands out. Among these: “Caffè Ninfole”, “Breadmakers’ Association” of Taranto, “Centrale del Latte” and, on the occasion of the concert on Sunday 21st, the “Giardini Virgilio”, together happy to offer citizens breakfast before the concert.

Interested in the event are the neighborhoods of Tre Carrare Battisti, Paolo VI, Tamburi, Salinella, Città Vecchia, Taranto 2, Italia Montegranaro and, indeed, Lama-Talsano. «An initiative, that of the “Concerts at Breakfast” – underlines Maestro Piero Romano, artistic director of the Magna Grecia Orchestra – which has the aim of creating a community project: meeting up and sharing a moment of joy and great music together; listen to important pieces of classical music and meet to have breakfast together, thanks to the sensitivity and intervention of local activities and associations who enthusiastically collaborate.”

Domenico Famà, conductor, classical composer and guitarist. Particularly appreciated for his interpretative research combines severe rigor and maximum expressiveness, debuted at the “Bellini” theater in Catania in 2018, guest in a concert symphony dedicated to Mozart, Rossini, Verdi and Bellini.

Represented by various international record labels, he boasts a concert career enriched by important collaborations. Since 2020 he has been musical and artistic director of the Orfeo Chamber Orchestra which he founded in Catania. As a composer he has written several chamber compositions, collected in the album “Fragments de temps” (2021). In 2022 he released his first album as a conductor (“Music for strings”), while at the end of 2023, he produced a new album (“Romanza”). Since 2023 he has been assistant master of Fabrizio Maria Carminati at the “Bellini” theater in Catania, and since 2024 he has been an ordinary member of the Sibelius Society Italia. He hosts musical broadcasts, writes for various cultural magazines and since 2023 has been a teacher at the “Giovanni Paisiello” Conservatory of Music in Taranto.
