First brilliant victory of the year for the Perugian rider Costanza Laliscia, who dominated the third stage of the Fise circuit, held last Saturday in Rocca di Papa, Rome, prevailing over the Italian Simone Gigante and the Emirati Ahmed Ali Sultan Al Shamsi, respectively second and third place. The route covered offered participants the opportunity to preview the route of the classic Italian endurance challenge, the Italian Absolute Championships, which will be held in just three weeks, anticipating an epic challenge that will be at the center of everyone’s attention the equestrian landscape.
In the international 120 km race which marked the start of the Italian competitive sports season, after the excellent results at the beginning of the year in Saudi Arabia, Costanza and Cadzya du Barthas, a thoroughbred Arabian female from 2012, emerged as the undisputed protagonists, standing out throughout the competition in the top positions.
The multiple Umbrian champion once again demonstrated her great ability in a technical and demanding course that put all the riders to the test. The Fuxiateam duo crossed the finish line at an average of 16.064 km/h, a surprising speed given the important altitude of the route, recording a final lap at 18.367 km/h: the fastest of the entire competition.
Not only. As evidence of the commitment and attention that the entire Fuxiateam constantly reserves for the well-being of the horse, the veterinary commission awarded the Best Condition award to Cadzya du Barthas, as the horse in the best physical condition at the end of the race.
The result of team work that crowns the sacrifice, passion and determination that have always characterized Costanza Laliscia, the victory in Rocca di Papa not only reconfirmed the talent of the Umbrian athlete, but also allowed her to gain precious points for consolidate the current fourth position in the FEI Endurance Riders World Ranking.
