Foggia. “Badly attacked.” “Solidarity with doctors Anna Maria Quitadamo, Mariano Karim, Paola Capolaretti”

Dr. Anna Maria Quitadamo and Dr. Mariano Karim, both victims of two brutal attacks in the emergency room of the Policlinico Riuniti of Foggia, met the mayor Maria Aida Episcopo and the councilor for Legality Giulio De Santis in the afternoon at Palazzo di Città, who expressed their heartfelt closeness and personal solidarity to them and of the entire community, also extended to Dr. Paola Capolaretti, who in turn was the victim of yet another violence a few hours before while carrying out her meritorious work.

They were accompanied by the president of the Foggia Doctors’ Association Pierluigi De Paolis, by the representative of the ANAAO Doctors’ Union Fabrizio Corsi and of the CIMO Doctors’ Union Graziano Minafra, and by the city councilors Pasquale Dell’Aquila and Achille Capozzi. The continuous attacks on medical staff in an extremely delicate area have become a social emergency that none of those present intended to minimize.

During the meeting, the mayor immediately started informal discussions with the institutional authorities directly involved, and with councilor De Santis she planned to launch an awareness and information campaign in synergy with the Medical Association, and to evaluate with the ‘Advocate the methods for the establishment of the Organization as a civil party in the legal actions to be undertaken alongside the victims of gratuitous and unacceptable violence.

The city councilors will prepare an urgent motion to be brought to the attention of the City Council.
