The Sabir Festival begins in Prato on April 18th

The Sabir Festival, born one year after the Lampedusa massacre on 3 October 2013, will take place in Prato this year. The event will focus mainly on national issues, on the topic of work and citizenship, on the prospects of entry and residence policies, but also of detention and detention, of people of foreign origin in our country.

Also in this edition the days will be animated by book presentations, cinema and music exhibitions; dialogues between artists and those who, part of the new generations of Italians, build new imaginaries trying to overturn the perspective in a society crossed by continuous social and cultural transformations.
Furthermore, this year, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary, the Sabir Festival will have a double edition: a Prato, from 18 to 20 Apriland then to Rome from 10 to 12 October.

The opening of the Festival is scheduled Thursday 18 April, at 12pm, at Officina Giovani in Piazza dei Macelli 4with interventions by Matteo Biffoni (Anci delegate for Immigration and integration policies, mayor of Prato and president of Cittalia), Walter Massa (President of ARCI), Emiliano Manfredonia (President of ACLI), Paolo Valente (Deputy Director of Caritas Italian), Maria Grazia Gabrielli (CGIL Confederal Secretary), Camilla Siliotti (A Buon Diritto Communications Manager), Nazzarena Zorzella (ASGI Lawyer of the Bologna Bar), Syed Hasnain (UNIRE President), Paola Barretta (Rome Charter Spokesperson).
