Tages Capital SGR (“Tages”), an asset management company specializing in private market alternative investment funds and Delos Service (Delos), an asset management and Operations & Maintenance company for energy production plants from renewable sources which manages the The entire fleet of plants of the Tages Helios, Tages Helios II and Tages Helios Net Zero funds are joining the Green Energy Day, Energy Transition Day, on April 20th, organized by Coordinamento Free and sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security .

As part of the initiative, the opening to the public of energy production sites from renewable sources and of companies throughout Italy that have undertaken an energy efficiency journey. In particular, Tages, which, through the plants held by the funds it manages, is today the second photovoltaic operator in Italy in terms of installed power, and Delos will open to the public two photovoltaic systemsthe one located in the municipality of Giugliano in Campania in the province of Naples of the company Saniso Srl (Fixed ground system – Power: approx. 20 MW) and that in the municipality of Uta in the province of Cagliari of the company Blusolar Uno Srl (Single-axis tracker system – Power: approx. 82 MW) .

Apart from the two plants of the funds managed by Tages, it will be possible to visit renewable energy plants throughout Italy thanks to an interactive map on the Green Energy Day website.

The objective is to raise awareness of the plants that are usually closed to the public, and to create a moment of reflection and in-depth analysis on the issues of decarbonisation, on the maturity of energy production technologies from renewable sources, on the insertion of the plants in the territory , on the importance of energy efficiency and, above all, wants to draw attention to climate change and the urgency of using mature technologies to redesign a society without emissions.

It is important in this context to raise awareness among families and schools in particular, as well as all interested parties, of the importance of the Energy Transition, a process that has been going on for years but which urgently needs to be accelerated to safeguard the environment and combat global warming. For this reason we are all called to be aware of it and to participate in the challenge of change as envisaged by the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development made up of 17 Objectives framed within a broader action program made up of 169 targets, associated with them, to be achieved in the environmental, economic, social and institutional fields by 2030.

Daniele Spada, General Director of Tages Capital SGR commented: “Green Energy Day represents a unique opportunity to raise public awareness of the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition. We are honored to be able to contribute, by participating in this initiative, to the spread of a culture of sustainable energy, in full compliance with our mission as a responsible and sustainable investor and in accordance with the objectives that our investors have given us”.

Lorenzo Petralito, CEO of Delos Service commented: “We decided to join the first edition of this initiative because it is essential to raise awareness of what we do, to make people understand how our photovoltaic systems work and the process through which we exploit the sun’s rays to produce clean energy. Renewable, wind, photovoltaic, hydroelectric and biomass systems are essential for abandoning fossil fuels and reducing carbon emissions. And photovoltaic solar energy, which converts sunlight into electricity, exploiting an abundant resource in Italy, is at the center of this transformation.”

Valeria Losacco, Operations and Regulatory Manager of Delos Service added: “The production of electricity from photovoltaic sources recorded new installations of approximately 5.2 GW in 2023, bringing the photovoltaic power installed in Italy to over 30 GW. But that’s not enough: to achieve the European objectives for 2030 set by the “Fit for 55” and “REPowerEU” measures, the Energy and Climate Plan will have to set a target of 143 GW of installed renewable power by 2030, or a further 57 GW of photovoltaic to be installed in the next six years. The road is long and we must continue to raise awareness among all stakeholders, starting with school children.”

The initiative is organized by the FREE Coordination, the largest association in the energy transition sector present in Italy today. FREE, through a coordination action of the Associations and Bodies that are part of it, has the aim of promoting the development of renewables, energy efficiency and decarbonisation.
