Non-existent credits to reduce debts, huge seizure of the stone sector company

A maxi seizure of around 300 thousand euros towards a company of marble processing in Versilia it was carried out by the financial police on the orders of the investigating judge of Lucca. The preventive seizure for equivalent was triggered following accurate economic and financial investigations into tax evasion.

The investigation originates from a previous inspection activity conducted by the local authority Revenue Agency against the company, which operates in the stone sector of Versilia, following which the president of the board of directors and the legal representative had been referred to the public prosecutor’s office for undue compensation of non-existent tax credits for approximately 300,000 euros.

The consequent investigative activities allowed, again according to the reconstruction of the finance, to confirm what was found by the financial office, expanding the knowledge base also on the capital capacities of the two suspects as well as the company. As a result of the in-depth investigations, the measure of preventive seizure was proposed, also as equivalent, of the sum equal to the amount of compensation for non-existent credits used to illicitly reduce the company’s tax debt.

In this sense, the prosecutor’s office, considering the evidentiary elements collected by the investigators to be sufficient, involved the investigating judge, who issued the real precautionary measure against the company as well as the suspects, then carried out, in recent days, by the soldiers of the Viareggio group with the seizure of sums of money by the president of the board of directors of the company, for a total of approximately 300,000 euros. The operation developed by the Guardia di Finanza, in synergy with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Revenue Agency also in light of an ongoing memorandum of understanding, demonstrates the commitment to action to combat the most serious and insidious, integrating the functions of the economic-financial police with those of the judicial police and guaranteeing the pursuit of the objectives of attacking the assets of individuals who have unduly enriched themselves.
