After the discussion in the first commission, the Sanremo city council, in its last session under the Biancheri administration, also gave the OK to the new Tari tariffs and the related regulation.
The tax will produce a revenue of 18 million euros, while 40% of the collection cost will be financed through the Tourist Tax. Furthermore, the Municipality confirmed i 150 thousand euros of funds in favor of families in difficulty, a sum that will be assigned with a tender from the Social Services of Palazzo Bellevue. Other benefits are also foreseen which, however, as Mayor Alberto Biancheri announced in the council, will be left to the discretion of the administration which will take office after the elections of next 8 and 9 June.
Here, then, the new Tari tariffs developed by the Municipality of Sanremo provide: (the difference with the 2023 rates in brackets): 1 occupant €2.85/m2 (-0.9%); 2 occupants €4.40/m2 (-0.8%); 3 occupants €4.92/m2 (-0.7%); 4 occupants €5.33/m2 (-0.7%); 5 occupants €5.74/m2 (-0.7%).
From the opposition benches criticism from Andrea Artioli for the calculation of tariffs especially in relation to second homes and for the city collection system in particular for tourists who choose short-term rental apartments and from Luca Lombardi regarding the ‘ discount’, considered minimal compared to the increases in previous years.
