A position to bring to the classroomat the Pirellone, to reiterate the commitment to maintain the socio-health functions of the current Gallarate hospital and to give a signal to those who signed the popular petition in the city.

It is proposed – and has already moved in this direction – by regional councilor Luca Ferrazzi, of Lombardia Migliore, who sits on the minority benches. «Yesterday I registered in the Third Commission the request to schedule the discussion on the popular petition” says the Gallaratese councilor.

«I believe that the Commission must give a response to the 13 thousand who have signed, also because we are well beyond the 60-day deadline from the presentation of the petition, registered in October».

The petition was initiated by civic list Objective Gallarate Municipalityeven if the mobilization then partly went further, bringing together simple volunteers and also the parties, who were initially more doubtful about the instrument.

The petition was presented to the Third Commission (the one that deals with health, in fact) on April 4th. On that occasion, reassurances had arrived from the ranks of the League and the Brothers of Italy on the maintenance of a garrison in Gallarate, also based on the text of the program agreement: the centre-right councillors they had insisted that the future new center will not be a “single hospital”but a “new hospital”, in the sense that the facilities remain in the center of Busto and Gallarate.

«My proposal – which will also be shared with the councilors Matteo Astuti and Giuseppe Licata – is to bring a resolution to the Commission. Faced with the 13 thousand citizen signatures, I believe that either a resolution or a dismissal must be reached. But let there be a debate and everyone takes their own commission.”

The proposal for a resolution, if approved by the Commission, would then go to the regional council. «If there is no agreement in the Commission, I believe that as a minority we will still propose an act to the council. But cwhereas everyone agreed to provide guarantees to the people of Gallara, I believe that the Commission can take charge of the request” says Ferrazzi again, indirectly urging the centre-right councillors.

«I hope that the sensitivity in the Commission – concludes Ferrazzi with a single polemical hint – is different from that of the mayor of Gallarate who consider it waste paper” (Cassani recently defined the one on the hospital and the one from Fiab on road safety as “fuck petitions”).

«If I were a local administrator, I would see it as a strengthening of the position of maintaining the socio-healthcare vocation. Why not write it in a resolution then.”
