The Tuscan trio to ‘conquer’ Ariston?
That Carlo Conti will be the next host of Sanremo Festival 2025 edition isn’t huge news: we’ve been talking about it for months and at this point it seems impossible, barring always welcome twists, to see someone else on the Ariston stage. It (re)confirms it TvBlog and adds that Tuscanness will take over: in addition to the host made in Tuscany they will also be on stage Panariello and Pieraccioni. The trio is close-knit and not only because of their recent experience at the theater. Pieraccioni, Conti and Panariello have been friends since well before the success of Wet paint (1989 on the Cinquestelle broadcaster). How to say, you go to the Ariston with friends and after the marvelous couple Fiorello-Amadeus they would try again with a trio. Who knows if it goes.
It seems that the only “knot” to be resolved regarding Conti’s management remains the artistic direction that some of the Rai top management would like separated from management. But who would ever agree to hold a Festival without choosing the songs? Not Carlo Conti, one might say. A deminutio unacceptable compared to Amadeus’ position. Meanwhile, the Tuscan host gave an interview to Corriere della Sera and reiterates what has already been said also at FQMagazine: “I don’t know if I still have the right musical ear” (on the possibility of doing three editions as already happened in 2015-16-17, ed). An answer which, returning to the artistic direction, says a lot about the objective.
And to the question whether the share achieved by Amadeus it would be a cause for anxiety for him, the retort is clear: “But I could never replicate it, I wouldn’t arrive at 2 in the morning (laughs, ed)! Amadeus did a great job, but you can’t think about precedents, otherwise after Baudo no one would have had to do it anymore.” It’s true, and Conti knows it well, that the enormous success of Amedeo Umberto Rita Sebastiani did not depend only on the duration and, although the idea of going to sleep earlier is tempting, it remains to be seen whether the race will really allow us to close (much) earlier.
