Another initiative dedicated to socialization, in this case with the involvement of many
young; another mural to beautify the city and bring smiles thanks to art. The ‘Bleach the city’ programme, financed by the municipal administration as part of the Social Cohesion Projects, ended yesterday with the inauguration of Manu Invisible’s work.
Yesterday morning the ribbon cutting in via Is Pardinas in front of the street art work ‘Prospettive’,
carried out at the ‘Alfredo Rosas’ Secondary School in Flumini. Designed by the artist Manu Invisible, it is the result of a strong collaborative process with the educational community and the students of the Comprehensive Institute n. 6, Bellavista complex. It symbolizes positivity and openness towards new horizons, offering a message of hope and motivation for the future, despite the challenges of adolescence.
The work was carried out thanks to the support of the Department of Social Services and
Generational Policies of the Municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena, within the Social Cohesion Projects. The ‘Bleach the city’ intervention intends to promote sociality and enhance urban art as a tool for community growth and development.
A large delegation of students was present at the inauguration, the same ones they had
participated in the workshops with Manu Invisible to tell their story and thus lay the foundations, creating a theme for the work.
The artist, also known far beyond the island’s borders, comes from the world of Graffiti and maintains
the urban approach of this discipline, with an art that differs from Street Art due to the choice of inserting words with a high symbolic value, both within urban contexts and on fast-moving streets. On the occasion he shared the development of creativity, the vision behind the work and it was also an opportunity to celebrate the creativity and commitment of Flumini’s public education in enriching and taking care of school environments through art and culture.
“Through Social Cohesion projects, the Administration works for the maximum
involvement of citizens, in this case children, young people from middle schools – explains the Councilor for Social Services and Youth Policies Marco Camboni -. We create the conditions for them to become protagonists, through various tools, including art. It is a type of intervention that stimulates them towards expression, creativity, participation and sharing of common objectives. And this is why we believe it is so important to finance these initiatives.”
