Sixth appointment at the Pietro Aretino Theater in Arezzo for the Z Generation meets Theater theater review. On Sunday 21 April, starting at 5.30 pm, the ART-U company will stage “Horfès – Andata e return”, written by Marco Caroccia and directed by Virginia Billi, with Virginia Billi and Riccardo Caroccia and with live music Riccardo Caroccia. Lights by Marco Stumia. “HorFès round trip” uses the evocative power of music and cinema to tell an ancient story with contemporary means. The show tells us about Orpheus and Eurydice, their stubborn love, their fragility and imperfections, the inevitable encounter between eros and thanatos. Timeless, profound, highly evocative myth that brings together a surprising multiplicity of themes: love and death, triumph and failure, the search for beauty in art and the descent into hell. That of Orpheus and Eurydice is the story of a troubled journey, of a search for oneself in the depths of the essence. A retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice that sees them as two ordinary mortals, set on the night of July 20, 1969, when man landed on the moon. This night is not just a mere background, but a metaphor of the challenge to darkness, of the journey that leads to the discovery of the dark side of the moon as well as of the journey that descends into the underworld and the abyss of the human soul. A show in which the everyday and the sublime come together, where music becomes a stage presence that accompanies and leads both the audience and the characters. If Orpheus must find the courage to leave everything behind and question her absence, Eurydice must walk her own path towards accepting her fate; together, but each alone in the awareness of the irreversibility of death.
