Martina Peruzza found in a pool of blood behind the counter, drama at the Treviso shopping centre

VITTORIO VENETO (TREVISO) – She was found lying on the ground, in a pool of blood: the causes that left her dying are a mystery Martina Peruzza, 30 years old, employee of the parapharmacy located inside the Tosano hypermarket in Colle Umberto. It happened on the evening of last March 20, a Wednesday, when two customers, who entered the store to make purchases, found her on the floor, already unconscious, behind the counter. They immediately called for help: the young woman was first taken to Conegliano, then, given the conditions, to Ca’ Foncello in Treviso. Where she underwent emergency surgery. He is now in Motta di Livenza, where motor and neurological rehabilitation is underway.

THE SUSPECT

«Martina’s condition is critical – reports a relative of the young woman -. The problem is that we can’t understand what could have happened. Our fear is that the young woman was attacked, or that someone threatened her and perhaps in the heat of the moment she tripped and hit her head.” «Last Saturday afternoon – adds the relative -, in the same store, a foreign citizen had caused panic and in the end the police had to use the taser. Martina was alone when the event occurred. We hope that viewing the camera footage will shed light on what happened.”

GREAT APPREHENSION

The young woman had enjoyed excellent health until that day. «She is a self-confident woman, used to travelling, she has never had any problems. She loves her work very much, a passion that was passed on to her by her mother Annalisa.” The lady, who ran a well-known herbalist’s shop in Vittorio Veneto, died at just 48 years old. «The police alerted us around 11pm that Martina was in hospital. She was very serious, they found two large hematomas on her head that were pressing on her brain, she underwent emergency surgery. Once she came out of the coma she was taken to the rehabilitation hospital in Motta di Livenza, where her recovery, which is very difficult, is underway. We still don’t know if there is any neurological damage. We continue to wonder what could have happened: sudden illness, accidental fall, an attempted attack considering that she is a pretty girl. We have asked the police to acquire the video surveillance footage of the shopping center».

THE ASSESSMENTS

The morning after the episode, the family member returned to the shopping center. «I tried to understand more. In the place where Martina fell there was a pool of blood. However, she was found near the bathroom, and there was no blood there. I hypothesize that she remained unconscious for a while at the first point, so much so that her blood coagulated, and then came to a little and thus dragged herself towards the bathroom. When they helped her she was gasping incoherent sentences.” The family reported what happened to the police and turned to them asking for investigations, even though they had not formalized a complaint. From the first findings, including the viewing of camera footage, the police exclude the involvement of third parties. What happened has caused apprehension among colleagues at the shopping center where Martina is respected and appreciated by everyone.
