Employment is growing, figures are more in demand

Trade and services, specialized workers, artisans, qualified professionals: they are the most sought after by job marketoften hired with permanent contracts and protagonists of an employment growth which in Tuscany increased by 2.8 percentage points compared to a national average increase that stops at 2.0%.

The data comes from the research office of Cgia of Mestre, and sees a return to the permanent job after years of flexibility rhyming with precariousness. Not for everyone, however, because general workers, not trained in specific qualifications, fall behind the companies’ desires. Their recruitment in the same period examined fell by -1.6%. The appeal of the armed forces then collapses, marking a decline in Italy -5%.

Coming to more strictly regional data, with its +2.8% of employed from 2019 to 2023 the Tuscany it ranks 8th on the national scene. The ranking is led by Puglia (+6.3%), followed by Liguria e Sicily both with +5.2%.

As the table below shows, four regions show negative employment performance: they are Emilia Romagna, Piedmont, Sardinia And Molise which even marks -2.0%.

But here is the employment trend between 2019 and 2023 in the Tuscan provincesaccording to the position they occupy in the national ranking drawn up by the Mestre CGIA and led by Lecce which achieved a +16.5% increase in employment.

  • 69th place – Siena: +0.7%
  • 74th place – Florence: +0.2%
  • 76th place – Massa-Carrara: +0.0%
