Lusaka – They are stopping in various cities in Piedmont and Lombardy to make their culture known. They are the 14 kids from the Mthunzi Center in Lusaka – a socio-educational and residential project founded in 2000 to welcome children in poverty in the capital of Zambia – who will be in Italy until 8 May for an initiative that aims to be a journey of knowledge and cultural exchange. The group of young people will perform in a dance and acrobatics show entitled Tiyende Pamodzi, or “let’s walk together”: an exhortation to knowledge and exchange between cultures. The children, aged between 11 and 26, will visit numerous cities in northern Italy accompanied by Father Renato Kizito Sesana, missionary in Africa for more than 40 years, by Robert Mwanza, head of the centre, by representatives of Amani and by volunteers of the association. The kids from the Mthunzi Center will stop between Ghiffa and Verbania (until May 1st), Como (May 2nd), Lecco (May 3rd), Lodi (May 4-5th), Milan (May 6th) and Turin (May 7th). At each stage they will be hosted by their families and will have the opportunity to meet their Italian peers as well as take part in meetings and initiatives organized for the occasion. (9columns)
