Two fundamental players of Milan will expire in two years. One is Mike Maignangoalkeeper, the other is Theo Hernandez, left back. Both are negotiating a possible renewal with the Rossoneri, but for now it remains only a hypothesis and not a certainty. What does it mean? That Maignan asks for around 8 million euros a year, while Theo believes his career at the Rossoneri is probably over. So there is no real negotiation, in this sense, because the intention would be to change the scene. Here too, as for Maignan, such a high effort would be needed – between 8 and 10 million – that it doesn’t seem possible to get there.
It must be said that both still have two years left on their agreement. The first at 2.8 million, the other at five. So if Milan wanted to enter the last 24 months of the contract there wouldn’t be that many problems. Of course, it’s the last session to sell them at the maximum value, then things will inevitably change, a bit like for Vlahovic some time ago during his time at Fiorentina. For Milan there is no Maignan problem: in this case he will stay. There is more openness on Theo, but he will depend on the offers.
There is an opportunity for both at Bayern Munich, dealing with the replacement of Neuer and Davies. The latter wants to go to Real Madrid and asks for 12 million euros net from the Bavarians. In short, a renewal is almost impossible. while for the role of extreme defender, last season, Sommer was sacrificed to take Peretz. Not the right choice, Maignan would certainly be another level.
