PESCARA – “Occupying state maritime property for a month and, specifically, the most prestigious free beach in the city by setting up a shed complete with a party symbol, a few weeks before the municipal and European elections, is at the limits of legitimacy as well as beyond beyond any sense of public use of state property. The free beaches, heritage of the unavailable state property, must be used for tourist accommodation purposes and not for electoral propaganda of a party, even for a month”.
Two and a half months before the municipal elections there is controversy in Pescara, raised by the leader of the Democratic Party Piero Giampietro, on the location in the central free beach behind the Cascella ship in Pescara, of the national programmatic conference of Fratelli d’Italia from 26 to 28 April, but with the construction of five tensile structures already underway, and with the dismantling which will then end on the 5th May. Also planned are 12 chemical toilets, generators, containers and totems. For a total of over 2,750 square meters,
“These days no one from Pescara could enjoy a sunbed or deckchair because the regional ordinance prohibits it; no one from Pescara can organize an event on the beach because the regulations prohibit it; but can the government party occupy public property for a month for electoral propaganda initiatives?, thunders Giampietro, who also intends to clarify the authorization process obtained from the State Property Agency.
