Case of non-qualifying degrees: yes to extraordinary sessions – L’Aquila

THE EAGLE. An extraordinary exam session and graduation session. The University is trying to mend the “degrees without qualifications” rift in the Faculty of Training and Education Sciences. And he does it through deliberations. After the rector’s decree of April 4th Edoardo Alessewhich had already established, for graduates and undergraduates, the possibility of enrolling free of charge, until 30 April 2025, in «individual courses aimed at acquiring the knowledge and skills required by law for the purposes of accessing the profession of service educator training programs for childhood”, now the university extends a helping hand to all those students who were about to graduate soon, only to then discover, despite themselves, that their study plan suddenly said something completely different.
«The Director informs the Council that, in light of the previous resolution, it is necessary to provide for an extraordinary exam session for those who are about to graduate in Education and Training Sciences (L-19), in order to adapt their career as established by Decrees 65/2017 and 378/2018. (…) The Council is therefore asked to approve this extraordinary exam session from 6 to 9 May 2024″. So far, the resolution on the new exam window available to students penalized by the university’s failure to adapt to a six-year previous regulation. «The Director informs the Council that, according to the provisions of Legislative Decree 65 of 13 April 2017 and Ministerial Decree 378 of 9 May 2018, those who have enrolled in the degree course in Education and Training Sciences (L-19) requires changes to the study plan in order to obtain the teaching qualification in children’s services. In order for those who are about to graduate to be able to take the exams necessary to adapt their career to what is established by the aforementioned decrees, it is necessary to organize an extraordinary graduation session dedicated to them for the 2022/23 academic year. Therefore, the Council is asked to approve the graduation session to be held on June 29th.” The unknown remains of all those who have already graduated without having completed 125 hours of internship in a nursery school, which has been foreseen at ministerial level since 2018, and for a few weeks also at the University of L’Aquila.
