In the heart of the island of the sun, between lush lands and crystal clear sea, an excellence was born destined to conquer the palates of the most demanding cocktail bars throughout the world. It is “Polara ’53”, the new line of premium tonics and sodas, proudly “born in Sicily”, which combines the authenticity of local ingredients with the wisdom of master blenders.
It was born from Polara, the historic Sicilian soft drinks company that celebrated 70 years of activity just last year, with exports all over the world but always with a single great objective at its core: promoting Sicily and its extraordinary ingredients. And the new “Polara ’53” line also falls along this line with eight products inspired by the vibrant “Sicilian life”, officially presented at the recent Cibus in Parma. They are the result of two years of research and development, and the involvement of a team of bartenders led by Chiara Mascellaro, world champion of mixology. Sicily, a land of ancient culinary traditions, thus becomes a protagonist also in the world of high quality non-alcoholic drinks. The “Polara ’53” products, made 100% with natural ingredients and with a reduced amount of sugar, are designed to offer a unique and authentic experience. Carmelo Polara, CEO of the company, underlines the importance of valorising Sicilian raw materials and the rich culinary tradition of the island: “Sicily offers us the best of raw materials and the culture of knowing how to mix products of different origins that comes to us for millennia of our history. What happened in Sicily in the kitchen, in the pastry shop, we wanted to apply in the world of soft drinks”. There are eight references: Indian, Mediterranean, Botanical, Thyme, Bitter Lemon, Pink Grapefruit, Ginger Beer and Dry. Each variety, inspired by the citrus fruits and aromatic herbs of the island, brings with it a unique story, ready to enhance the most refined and creative cocktails. Among the varieties offered, the Indian Tonic stands out, an innovative interpretation of the classic, characterized by a clean and dry taste enriched by the natural aromas of lemon, tarocco orange and juniper. The Mediterranean Tonic, on the other hand, offers a play of citrus scents and sweet but pungent aromas, perfect for stimulating the imagination of the most creative bartenders. The Botanical Tonic, with its mix of lime, lemongrass and basil, promises freshness and lightness, while the Thyme Tonic, flavored with natural thyme extract, adds a vegetal and enveloping note to every drink. The Bitter Lemon, with its intense and fresh taste, celebrates the authenticity of the Sicilian lemon, while the Pink Grapefruit, with its fresh and pungent aroma of pink grapefruit, embodies innovation and originality in mixing. Ginger Beer, with its balanced spiciness of ginger, adds an intriguing note to cocktails, while Dry Tonic, inspired by tradition, enhances any type of drink with its aromatic and bitter notes. “Polara ’53”, the bartenders’ ideal campaign, shows the authentic soul of the island thanks to the careful selection of the best raw materials to give each sip, also thanks to a large, long and persistent bubble, a unique and enveloping taste.
